26th Blood Donation Camp held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan

Port Blair, Sep 26: Under the divine blessings of Sadguru Mata Sudiksha Maharaj, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, the social wing of the Sant Nirankari Mission, organized a Blood Donation Camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Junglighat, Port Blair on 24th September, 2023. The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Rekha, MD (Ayurveda), Specialist Panchakarma at Ayush Hospital, Port Blair. In her speech Dr. Rekha emphasized the importance of blood to those in need. Further, she further added that in the Materialistic world, many things can be bought but blood cannot. Blood can only be donated by healthy & willing individuals. 

The camp was inspected by Dr. Pragya Sharma, Director of ANIIMS. During her visit, she expressed her appreciation for the high moral values demonstrated by female blood donors. In her speech, she said “I am genuinely pleased to witness the enthusiasm of the volunteers from Sant Nirankari Mission, Port Blair, towards humanity”. She also stressed that blood is a precious resource that can save lives in times of danger. 

The head of the Camp Dr. Shahina M., Grade – I Specialist & CHS, who is also in charge of the Blood Centre I/C at G.B Pant Hospital, commended the selfless act of blood donation by individuals. 

One day prior to the Blood Donation Camp, a bike rally was also conducted. The rally was flagged off by Rev. Kanchan Devi, Former Councilor of PBMC and Social Worker. The rally started from the National Memorial Cellular Jail, passed through Aberdeen Bazar, the Clock Tower, Delanipur Junction, and Goalghar Junction, finally concluding at Sant Nirankari Mission Satsang Bhawan, Junglighat. The motive behind conducting the rally was to spread a message and encourage people to donate blood for the betterment of mankind. The rally was attended by a large number of sewadal volunteers, senior citizens, youngsters, males, females, and children.

The Sant Nirankari Mission branch in Port Blair received a letter of appreciation from the Andaman & Nicobar Aids Control Society & Blood Bank, G.B. Pant Hospital on the occasion of the launch of the “AYUSHMAN BHAVA Campaign 2023.” This recognition was for the exemplary services provided by the Sant Nirankari Mission in the field of voluntary blood donation camps, regularly contributing to the blood center at G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair. The certificate also highlights that this service is a noble cause for humanity.

During this camp, a total of 76 volunteers donated blood, including 20 females and 56 males. A total of 116 registrations were completed, with 40 individuals being deemed ineligible to donate.

The Sector In-charge, Mr. Satya Narayan of the Sant Nirankari Mission in Port Blair, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, blood donors, and Sadh Sangat present on this occasion. He also expressed gratitude to Sadguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj for providing the opportunity to serve the people and for bestowing blessings upon all the dignitaries, blood donors, and Sadh Sangat, contributing to the success of the Blood Donation Camp organized by the Sant Nirankari Mission in Port Blair. Additionally, he thanked everyone for dedicating their valuable time to this noble cause.
