Port Blair, May 08: The much-anticipated Closing Ceremony of the Islands Cricket Premier League (ICPL) 2023-24 took place on May 7th, 2024, at the Netaji Stadium in Port Blair. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Nikhil Kumar, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary, A &N Administration, who participated as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, who attended as the Guest of Honour.
In an exhilarating final match, Shahid Sports Club from Calicut emerged victorious, clinching the Title by defeating Gateway Raptors from Bambooflat by a narrow margin of 9 runs. The match showcased outstanding sportsmanship and skill, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats until the very end.
During the Closing Ceremony, Shahid Sports Club was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3,00,000/- for their exceptional performance, while the Runner-Up team, Gateway Raptors, received a sum of Rs. 2,00,000/-. Additionally, all players were recognized for their dedication and contribution to the league, receiving trophies and cups as tokens of appreciation.
Furthermore, the organizers took the opportunity to honor members of the Cricket Association Andaman Nicobar (CAAN) and media representatives for their invaluable support throughout the league, presenting them with momentous tokens of gratitude.
