Port Blair, May 08: The meeting schedule for the election to the office of the Adhyaksha and Up-Adhyaksh/Up-Adhyaksha at 10.30 AM on 11.05.2024(Saturday) is hereby postponed due to administrative reasons. The meeting will be held on 13.05.2024(Monday) at 10.30 AM in the Conference Hall of DC’s Office, N&MA, Mayabunder.
Oaths will be administered to the newly elected Adhyaksha and Up-Adhyaksh/Up-Adhyaksha on the same day at 03.00 PM in the Community Hall, Gram Panchayat Pokadera(Danapur).
Under Sub-Section (6) of Section 150 of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Panchayats) Regulation, 1994, the office of Adhyaksha for the first & third year term of the Zilla Parishad shall be reserved for a woman and for the fifth year in favor of a member, if any belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.
