Port Blair, Aug 27: A momentous occasion unfolded as MANAV SEV SANGH organized a grand Citizen Felicitation Award Ceremony to honor exceptional individuals whose selfless contributions have illuminated society and enriched the legacy of Mother India. The ceremony, held on 26th August 2023 at Harinagar Panchayat Bhavan, Conference Hall, witnessed the gathering of distinguished individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving the greater good.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Ankit Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner / District Magistrate North & Middle Andaman, who attended as the Chief Guest. Dr. P.K. Mandal, General Secretary of MANAV SEV SANGH, took the stage to eloquently convey the history and objectives of the organization, emphasizing its unwavering commitment to fostering positive change.

In this historic felicitation function, a total of 12 extraordinary individuals were recognized for their outstanding and meritorious services that have left an indelible mark on society and the nation. The awardees span a diverse range of categories, each reflecting the essence of their exceptional contributions: Mrs. Shommy Das: Recognized for her dedication to women’s awareness and empowerment, Mrs. Shommy Das stands as a shining example of commitment towards gender equality and empowerment.

Mr. Sarajit Bawali, Dayal Biswas, Mr. Sachindanath Halder: These individuals were acknowledged for their roles as social workers and activists, tirelessly working to address societal challenges and bring about positive change. Mr. Subrata Mallick: Honored for his philanthropic efforts, Mr. Subrata Mallick’s act of donating blood 52 times has saved numerous lives and set a commendable example for others. Mr. Rabin Biswas: Recognized for his exceptional wooden art and sculptures, Mr. Rabin Biswas’s creative talents inspire entrepreneurship and self-employment within the community. SHO Deepak Kumar Xaxa (SHO, PS Billigound) and Mr. A. Anandh (PC, PS Billigound): These individuals were celebrated for their outstanding leadership and quick response during flood situations, exemplifying unwavering dedication to saving lives. Late Dr. S.K. Mondal: Posthumously honored for his meritorious scientific research in anti-tumor cancer studies, and for achieving “The Young Scientist Award,” a recognition that brought pride to the state and community steadfast in its commitment to promoting positive change and service to society.

It’s heartwarming to hear about the recognition and appreciation for late Ramesh Singh’svalor and sacrifice in combating Pakistani terrorists in 2001. The fact that he was posthumously felicitated for his bravery is a testament to his dedication and service. The Chief Guest’s commendation of the Manav Seva Sangh for organizing such a historic event shows the importance of honoring those who have made significant contributions to society.

The conclusion of the program with a vote of thanks by Mr. Uttam Mondal, the President of Manav Seva Sangh, is a fitting way to acknowledge the efforts of all those involved in arranging the event and paying tribute to a true hero.
