Port Blair, Feb 23: Honorable Cabinet Minister, Mr. Bhupendra Yadav appreciated an invention, reusable eco-friendly drinking straw invented by Dr. Lal Singh, Scientist & Regional Head of BSI, ANRC from Andaman and Nicobar Islands during 2nd International symposium on plant taxonomy, ethnobotanist & botanic garden organized by Botanical Survey of India at Kolkata.
The straw was distributed to all participants as a part of campaign to avoid single use of plastic and make to plastic free India. Minister & all participants appreciated this ecologically significant invention / discovery of the potential of bamboo. This invention is registered for granting of patent.
