GREETINGS

On the Foundation Day of the State Gujarat, on 01st May 2024, I extend my warm wishes to the people of Gujarat, residing in these Islands.

Today, Gujarat is celebrating its vibrant culture and artistic heritage. Established on May 1st, 1960, following the enactment of the State Reorganization Act by the Indian Government, Gujarat boasts a unique blend of desert landscapes and a 1600-kilometer coastline, the longest in the nation. It’s the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and is renowned for its pristine beaches, temple towns, and historic capitals, as well as its wildlife sanctuaries, hill resorts, and natural beauty.

The State’s prosperity is underpinned by its robust industrial base, well-developed infrastructure, and thriving agricultural sector. Gujarat’s fertile soil and favorable climate make it an ideal locale for cultivating a diverse range of crops, including cotton, groundnuts, and sugarcane.

As we commemorate Gujarat Day, let us also honor the courageous souls who fought for the freedom of our great country. Let us pay tribute to their sacrifices and uphold the spirit of patriotism.

On this momentous occasion, I take the opportunity to extend warm greetings to the residents of Gujarat residing in these Islands commemorating their Statehood Day.
