Conviction of two for illegal hunting at Mayabunder

Port Blair, Apr 26: The Ld. Court of C.J.M, Mayabunder presided over by Mr. Mohd Rafique Alam convicted the accused Pradeep Kumar Halder and Pabitra Biswas in connection with Range Office, Bakultala (C.R. No. 15/14) for violating sections 9, 39(3), 40(2) and 50 of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 being punishable by U/S 51(1) of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and sentenced him to suffer simple imprisonment for 03 years and to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000/-. The State Prosecution was conducted by the Prosecution Wing, District Administration, Mayabunder.
