Vishal Jolly demands immediate sailing of vessels to Southern Group of Islands

Port Blair, Apr 26: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP, Former State President BJP, A&N and Member Home Ministry Advisory Committee, GoI has requested the Chief Secretary to arrange necessary shipping services to the Southern Group of Islands.
In his letter, he mentioned that the routine shipping schedule to the Southern Group of Islands are badly affected during the outbreak of COVID-19 since March 2020 and this interruption is still continuing even though the situation is normalized and the restriction imposed during the outbreak of COVID-19 was revoked.
Due to the non-availability of sufficient shipping schedule to these scattered Islands, the bonafide passengers and the Govt. servants posted at these far-flung Islands are facing huge troubles to reach their native places.
Further, he mentioned that the summer vacation has already been declared w.e.f 01.05.2022 and Eid festival will also be observed on or about 03.05.2022 as a result, most of the employees posted at Southern Group of Island will be waiting to reach Port Blair for availing summer vacation and Eid festival respectively.
Concluding in his letter he requested Chief Secretary to arrange necessary shipping services to the Southern Group of Islands by calling all ports by restoring all regular shipping services on a priority basis.
