Port Blair, Sep 09: The National Students Union of India (NSUI) State President Mr. M.A Sajid has demanded to resolve the issue of affiliation of engineering courses of DBRAIT, Port Blair immediately.

In the letters sent to the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and Secretary (Education), Mr. Sajid drew their attention to the protest being launched by hundreds of students of DBRAIT and the growing unrest among them.

“It is learned that the University has been directing the A&N Administration for the last 10 years to appoint a qualified Principal and Professors in the Institute. But for some strange reason, the Administration has been wilfully overlooking addressing these issues at the behest of Dr.UtpalSharma, Principal, DBRAIT. Now, the de-affiliation has put the future of B. Tech students in dark”, said Mr. Sajid.

Mr. Sajid requested the Vice-Chancellor, Lt. Governor, Chief Secretary and the Secretary (Education) to take all possible measures to ensure that the affiliation of DBRAIT is restored by the Pondicherry University and the students are not put to unnecessary hassle.

Talking to the media, Mr. Sajid assured the students of all his support and said that his student union is with them and will get them justice soon.
