Port Blair, Apr 25: The District Administration, South Andaman District carried out an extensive eviction drive at Port Blair and Ferrargunj Tehsil.
Encroachments done over an area approximately measuring 500 Sq. Mtrs upon government land at village Bambooflat and 1500 sq. mtrs of land situated at Dhanikhari village wherein 5 tin structures were constructed has been removed and the land has been restored to government khaata at Ferrargunj Tehsil.
Similarly, encroachment drives were carried out in Port Blair Tehsil and an area of 60 sqmts at Dollygunj village has been restored to the government. The encroachment drives were carried out with the assistance of Patwari, Patwari Assistant and CDVs in both Tehsils.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman cautioned the General Public that the District Administration has zero tolerance towards encroachment on government land and to refrain from encroaching on Government land.
