ANTCC President demands to ensure Toilet facilities for Outpatients and attendants at GB Pant Hospital

Port Blair, June 13: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder has highlighted issues concerning the unavailability of toilet facilities for outpatients’ attendants at GB Pant Hospital.

In a letter addressed to the Director, DHS, A & N Administration, Mr. Halder said that the toilets meant for the use of outpatients’ attendants have been closed for an extended period of time which has caused significant inconvenience and discomfort to the attendants who are accompanying patients at their time of medical consultations, treatments, and procedures.

He stated that lack of cleanliness, limited availability of functional toilets, and insufficient maintenance makes it an uncomfortable and unhygienic environment experienced by the attendants in GB Pant Hospital.

He said that ensuring the toilet facilities is crucial for enhancing the circumstances of the patients and their accompanying caregivers at the Hospitals.

He added that possessing a clean and functional restroom will also have an optimistic impact for improving patients’ satisfaction and will contribute to the overall Hospital management and its commitment to compassionate care.

He has further requested the Medical Administration to consider this issue and take necessary immediate steps to resume the toilet facilities for outpatients’ attendants at GB Pant Hospital.
