Electricity Department Campbell Bay celebrates Ujjaladiwas with theme of UjwalBharat UjwalBhavishya

Port Blair, Jul 27: A seminar cum workshop was organized by the Electricity Department of Campbell Bay on 27th July 2022 at Community Hall, Campbell Bay for creating awareness among the general public regarding the initiatives taken by the GoI to bring electricity to every House in India.

            The Chief Guest of the seminar was Mr. Barnabas Manju, Chairman, Tribal Council and Mr. Sanjay Kumar Roy, DGM REC on behalf of the ministry were present in the programme.

            The program was conducted under the leadership of Mr. P K Singh, BDO and Mr. Ashok Kumar Mallick, A.E Electricity, Campbell Bay and under the supervision of Mrs. Anushiya JE electricity.

            Further, the SHO PS Campbell Bay Mr. Gaurav Banerjee, all The HODs of different departments, Pradhan and Samiti members of all three Panchayat of GNI and PRI members were also invited to attend the celebration of UjwalaDiwas.

            The programme consisted of a cultural program, street drama presented by the students of GSS School Campbell Bay and a screening of movies for creating awareness regarding the initiative of the government for promoting the Ujwal Bharat programme. The testimonies of local beneficiaries of Led light distribution were presented to show how the led lights have transformed their lives. Mr. PK Singh, BDO stressed the use of renewable sources of energy and saving electricity for the future and conservation of energy the program became a big success as a huge crowd was turned for it.

            In the testimony of local beneficiaries, they all praised the Campbell Bay electricity department for providing the best service and also requested to again arrange led light for the Islanders so that the poor public of the island will be benefited.
