Azizur Rehman raises concern over vacant posts in Education Department

Port Blair, Jul 27: Mr. Azizur Rehman, Senior Vice-Chairperson, PBMC in a meeting raised the concern over Education Department to the Zilla Parishad Chairperson, South Andaman on 27th July 2022.

            He emphasized that insufficient teachers in schools and the functioning of schools without Principals and Vice Principals are adversely impacting the entire education system and also the management of all schools.

            He mentioned that there is a large number of vacant posts of teachers in the Education Department while thousands of qualified youths in Andaman are waiting for years for these jobs. He stated that most of the candidates waiting for the job have fallen into the “age bar” category due to the pandemic.

            Therefore, Mr. Azizur Rehman requested to fulfill the vacant posts of PST, GTT and PGT; fill up the vacant posts of Principals; Age relaxation of UPSC group ‘A’ post (Assistant Professor) and School teachers. Job preference for the Islanders and Enhancement of remuneration for guest faculties of different colleges of our Islands were the request made by the Senior Vice-Chairperson of PBMC.
