Port Blair, Apr 28: Crescent Public School, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Education, diligently observed Jal Pakhwada from April 16th to April 30th, 2024. The fortnight-long event aimed to raise awareness about water conservation and sustainability among students from Class IX to Class XII.
As part of the Jal Pakhwada activities, students of Crescent Public School actively participated in an array of educational and community-centric events. Notably, on April 24th, 2024, students engaged in an Essay and Drawing competition held within the school premises, showcasing their creative talents and environmental awareness.
In addition, a poster competition on water conservation was conducted, where students demonstrated their artistic skills and commitment to environmental conservation. The top 5 posters selected from this competition were prominently displayed during the street play held on April 27th, 2024, near Bamboo Flat, enhancing the visual impact of the event.
The highlight of the event occurred on April 27th, 2024, when students took to the streets near Bamboo Flat, in proximity to the local police station, to perform a thought-provoking street play on water conservation. This impactful initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the school, local authorities, and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
Acknowledging the significance of the program, Mr. Uday Shankar Tikadar, GTT Social Science and Saritha Kumari, PGT Hindi, graciously supervised the proceedings, ensuring its smooth execution. The cooperation and support extended by the police officials played a pivotal role in organizing the event seamlessly.
Heeba, student from Class XII, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all involved for their contributions towards making the Jal Pakhwada initiative a resounding success.
