YBSSCT with PBMC organizes cleanliness drive at Haddo

Port Blair, Jul 11: Oceans contribute to ecological prosperity, biodiversity, and economy, but the blind race for development has brought the world’s ocean coast to an environmentally worrying position. To make some difference on the coast and in society, Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust (YBSSCT) organized a cleanliness drive in collaboration with Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) on 10th July 2022 at Foreshore Beach, Near PS Chatham, Haddo.

            Before the drive, volunteers were briefed about the importance of waste segregation. A team comprising of YBSSCT Members and volunteers cleared the plastic and other non-biodegradable waste from the sea shore. During the drive glasses, plastic, and synthetic materials were segregated accordingly and kept in 20 different bags along with a heap of garbage. Which was later dispatched to the PBMC, SLRM center for further action.

            YBSSCT extended heartfelt gratitude to the Port Blair Municipal Council for providing vehicle facilities and manpower, for the removal and disposal of the collected garbage.

            The cleanliness drive is a part of YBSSCT’s activities to do the bit for a cleaner country. Such drives make children and local youth socially responsible and more proactive in tackling environmental
