Port Blair, Jul 11: Continuing with the strict vigil and drive against encroachments carried out over Government lands, the officials of the South Andaman, District Administration carried out eviction against such encroachments on 09th July 2022 in Garacharma village (Attampahar) and at Shyam Nagar village in Swaraj Dweep under Port Blair Tehsil and Kadakachang and Brindaban village under Ferrargunj Tehsil and a total area of 11510 sq. mtrs of Government land were restored to its original status.
During the above eviction drives encroachment in the shape of temporary structures over land bearing Sy.No. 1/P area 500 sq. mtrs was removed at Garacharma village (Attampahar) and in Sy. No.83/1 situated at Shyam Nagar village in Swaraj Dweep encroachment in Government revenue land in the shape of Arecanut, banana, coconut sapling was removed and an area of 1000 sq. mtrs was restored under Port Blair Tehsil.
Further during the drives conducted at Ferrargunj Tehsil, encroachments did over recorded roads bearing Sy. No.14 situated at Kadakachang village to the extent of 10 Sq mtrs was removed. Also, in a similar action at Bindraban village with the assistance of Patwari Assistant, Choudhry, CDVs of Ferragunj Tehsil, and APWD laborers an encroachment over Sy. No.1/P was removed and an area of 10000 sq. mtrs was restored to govt. account by removing arecanut saplings and fencing.
