Port Blair, June 08: Nehru Yuva Kendra Rangat in collaboration with Block Development Office & Child Development project office Rangat organized Millets Food Mela at Samiti Conference Hall Rangat on 08.06.2023. In which Mrs. Sita Majhi, Pramukh Panchayat Samiti Rangat was the Chief Guest while Mrs. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer, Rangat & Mrs. Uma Child Development Project Officer was the Guest Of Honor. Altogether 115 participants were from SHG, CRP, and A.W.W of the Rangat Block. The main objective of the programme was demonstration of various types of millet food and make aware all participants about the various types of protein, calcium, phosphorus that are contained by the millet’s food.
In the beginning of the programme Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas Deputy Director (OSD) NYK Rangat welcomed the gathering and chief guest and other guests. He also briefed about the mission life missions. While Mrs. Lalita Tigga BDO Rangat she appealed to all the participants that millet food should be used in day to day life and slowly it may be used as a business purpose also. Smtil Uma Devi CDPO Rangat briefs about the millets food utility and the benefits all age group of the society.
The end of the programme Mrs. Sita Majhi Pramukh Panchayat Samiti Rangat thanks to NYK Rangat, BDO & CDPO Rangat for organizing such a type of important food mela which will in future help environment and health of the general public.
