Inspiring Minds-Changing Lives Felicitation Event Celebrates Zohra Banu’s Achievement in UPSC Civil Services Examination

Port Blair, May 07: The Andaman Moplah Service Organization (AMSO) hosted a grand felicitation event today to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Zohra Banu, who secured 469th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Titled “Inspiring Minds-Changing Lives,” the event honored Zohra Banu’s exemplary dedication and academic excellence.

Zohra Banu, hailing from Calicut village in South Andaman, received her schooling from Ummat Public School and graduated in B.Tech CSE from Andhra University. Currently pursuing studies in Data Science at IIT Madras, Zohra’s journey is a testament to perseverance and determination.

Jb. N Mohammed Sahab and Jb. T Hamza were the Chief Guess in the august presence of Dr. Jameela and Ms. Maryam Bibi as Guest of Honour. The event was presided over by the Advisory Board members, and attended by family members of Zohra Banu and distinguished guests, students and community members in large numbers. 

Jb. Abdul Siddique, General Secretary, AMSO while welcoming the participants to the event, expressed that it is a joyous moment for not only the Moplah Community, but the entire Islanders to witness the success of Zohra Banu. He informed that the gates of UPSC CSE, which was opened by Sabeel, of the Moplah Community last year, has again been open by Zohra Banu, this year. The happiness and feeling is spell bound. 

Zohra Banu, in her address, expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of education in shaping lives and fostering societal progress. She highlighted her strategy of preparation for the examination. A lively question and answer session followed, where students eagerly posed their queries to Zohra.

Jb N Yusuf Sahib, President of AMSO, delivered the presidential speech highlighting the significance of Zohra’s achievement and the organization’s commitment to promote such talents. The keynote speaker, Jb. Abdul Rehman Sahib, Advisory Board Member, shared insights on the background of the organization, it’s journey till dwelling briefly into the rich history and struggle of the community in the Islands. 

Zohra Banu was presented with a momento and shawl as tokens of appreciation for her outstanding accomplishment. Jb. Abdul Gafoor, Vice President of AMSO, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and supporters.

Numerous other distinguished guests also shared their words of encouragement and inspiration during the event, making it a memorable occasion for everyone present.
