Port Blair, May 07: In response to the growing concern faced by the peoples of N&M Andaman, the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman convened a meeting today to review the status of water supply in the district and directed to identify new sources of water and focused on augmentation of existing sources in order to mitigate the water supply demand.
Further, the Chair has directed the Revenue Department to clear the pending demarcation, mutation, valuation in all the three Sub-divisions at the earliest giving priority and has directed to process the revenue cases immediately. It has also been directed to identify illegal construction/encroachment and initiate necessary action as per rules.
The chair has also directed the officials of NH-4 to expedite the maintenance of road work before arrival of monsoon for making the road motorable. Similar review meetings to assess the situation will be held weekly.
