Port Blair, Dec 23: In view of the manifold increase in the vehicular traffic in the route between Chatham and Bambooflat, the Directorate has decided to impose restriction on the movement/ transportation of commercial vehicles, through the vehicle ferry vessels operating in the above route during the peak hours i.e between 07.30 AM to 09.45 AM and from 05.00 PM to 06.45 PM, on all working days except Holidays.
Similarly, movement/transportation of non commercial four wheeler vehicles has also been restricted to 2 Four Wheeler vehicles per trip, during the above peak hours in the above route.
In order to clear the rush, especially during peak hours, the vessel once full to its capacity, instead of waiting for scheduled departure time, shall sail immediately.
