DC (SA) inaugurates library for public purpose in Chouldhari

Port Blair, Jul 25: Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with Mr. Dilkush Meena, SDM (SA), Mrs. Pramila Kumari, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad (SA) and other PRI member inaugurated three storied libraries under RURBAN mission for the public purpose on 25th July 2022.

            The DC (SA) mentioned that public libraries are an important entity in local communities, particularly in rural areas. They are more than shelves of books and offer an everchanging range of social and cultural resources for the community and would play a vital role by serving as an important resource for meeting the educational and informational needs of the rural populace.

            The team of officials inspected the building and assured of the suitable infrastructure such as racks, chairs, tables, and availability of books through collaboration with different organizations.

            DC (SA) appealed to the general public of Chouldhari village for maximum utilization of the library for productive reading which is built at a cost of around 72 Lakhs under the RURBAN Mission.
