A&NIslands positioned on the global map of fungal research

Port Blair, Aug 22: Two recent research publications in prestigious journals namely Fungal Diversity (Springer, Impact Factor 24.9) and Global Change Biology (Wiley, Impact Factor 13.2) have positioned A&N Islands on the global map of fungal research.

            102 researchers from different countries worked together to identify patterns in the endemicity and vulnerability of soil fungi on a global scale. Dr.DiponSharmah, one of these papers’ co-authors, is an Assistant Professor and Head (Botany) at JNRM. In 2015, he presented his research on the diversity of fungi at Northern Arizona University, USA.
