Port Blair, Dec 19: The 35th National Under-13 Chess Championship 2022 which began on 11th December 2022 at Vanarapet, Pondicherry concluded yesterday evening successfully.
Altogether 504 players across India took part in the prestigious event in which 5 young budding chess players (three boys and two girls) from Andaman & Nicobar Islands have participated and done reasonably well.
In Boy’s sections, M. A.Dinakar of Kamaraj English Medium School & Yuvan Singh of Carmel Sr. Sec. School Port Blair scored 5 points each with two wins & six draws and four wins & two draws respectively and V Yashwant of Govt. Model Sr. Secondary School Port Blair scored 4 points with two wins and four draws.
Similarly, in girl’s section Kavya Raj of VKV Lambaline Port Blair scored 5 points with four wins and two draws and Tanisha Raj of VKV Lambaline Port Blair scored 4 points with three wins and two draws.
