Training in Youth Leadership and Community Development (TYLCD) Organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra

Port Blair, Jan 06: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair organized a 3 days residential trainingprogramme of  “Training in Youth Leadership and Community Development(TYLCD)” from 6th – 8th January, 2023 at Maharashtra Mandal, Port Blair*.The objective of the training programme is to enhance the capacities ofyoung people to take leadership to help others to live meaningful lives andcontribute to Nation Building.  Inculcate strong character,self-discipline, integrity, positive attitude, commitment to National andstrong desire to spread messages for Nation Building also to establish acadre of dedicated, motivated and trained youth leaders who are willing toenhance Nation Building activities. In this training total 40 youths wereparticipated from various youth clubs and Mahilamandals.

The training programme was inaugurated by Mr. Naresh Chandar Lal,Padmashree Awardee and swachh Bharat Ambassador, A & N Islands by lit thetraditional lamp as the chief guest and he spoke to the youth that thefuture of the nation lies through decisive action and dedicated service byyoung leaders. A strong personality and leadership skills motivate young citizens to meet theirneeds in society and serve in its development. If a youth acquires a solidknowledge of communication, leadership, interpersonal and life skills, thenHe can be turned into a high value leader. Youth can always play a positiverole in nation building.

In this training we intended to cover various topics About SelfDevelopment- need of self development- techniques, Imparting necessaryskills and techniques for Youth personality development and mobilization ofthe community for the development activities. Leadership – the concept,qualities, styles, skills, roles and responsibilities. ManagerialSkills-Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking Problem Solving. Responsiblecitizens: Promoting communal harmony, national unity and being Indian. Informand discuss the rural youth development and community welfare programmesand schemes of district and ministries and other developmental agencieswhich they can take up and or participate. Today Mr. M. Bala Subramani,Lecturer, Vadivel, Lecturer, ANCOL and Dr Milan Haldar, Lecturer, JNRM,Dr. Sunita Patil, Lecturer, JNRM today covered the session as resourceperson.

Earlier, Gopal Ch Biswas of Nehru Yuva Kendra welcomed the chief guest,other guests as well as participants and also briefed about the three daysresidential training programme.
