Port Blair, Jun 19: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has demanded an audit of all power backup units of all mobile towers in remote areas of these Islands and repair the faulty power backup units as soon as possible for the convenience of the public.
In a letter addressed to the Chief General Manager of BSNL, A&N Circle, the Member of Parliament mentioned that due to faulty power backup units of mobile towers, during power cuts there is a complete blackout of mobile and 3G networks in many remote villages of A&N Islands.
He mentioned that such complaints have been received from certain areas of Kadamtala, Katchal and other Islands.
