Port Blair, Sep 15: Mr. P.A Sharfuddin, Zilla Parishad Member, Mithakhari Constituency has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to issue an e-stamp above Rs.1000/- from every Canara Bank branch or by every government Bank situated in A&N Islands.
In a letter, he mentioned that the online payment of Stamp Duty and Printing of e-Stamp certificate launched by the A&N Administration in alliance with stock holding cooperation of India Limited on 17th December 2020 is turning out to be a gigantic accomplishment and similarly becoming widespread amongst the wide-ranging community.
He stated that it is easy to get the e-stamp by self or through any facility provider upto Rs. 1000/- but then if any being or universal civic obligatory to pay or purchase above Rs.1000/- have to visit Canara Bank, Main Branch Port Blair.
He mentioned that it is an individual bank that issues overhead of the declared sum and those who reside at Port Blair may manage in the main branch Canara Bank in enormous troop which is also gloomy but those who reside in different Islands have to come and visit only to purchase this e-stamp from the same main branch which is needless period and money consuming energy even have to pay an additional amount for the accommodation and food to complete it.
Therefore, Mr. P.A Sharfuddin requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to instruct the concerned authority to issue the above Rs. 1000/-stamp from the different branches of Canara Bank around the Island or provide the same to all government banks.
