Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Diglipur celebrates as Draupadi Murmu becomes President of India

Port Blair, Jul 28: VanvasiKalyan Ashram, Diglipur organized a dance function in the premises of Azad Hind Youth Club, Magar Nallah on 25th July 2022 in celebration of Mrs. DraupadiMurmu’s winning the presidential election and becoming the first tribal woman to occupy India’s

top constitutional post. Women were seen in their traditional attire dancing with the music of drums ringing in the air and smiling with happiness.

            Delivering a speech on the occasion, Mr. ShyamSundar Singh, President, VanvasiKalyan Ashram, Diglipur Zilla Samiti said that it was a very proud moment for them, as for the first time someone from the tribal community has occupied the country’s topmost constitutional post. The joyous mood was echoing the fact that DraupadiMurmu, is someone very well rooted to the ground and it is the love of the common people that makes her such a positive force. Mr. Kewal Krishna an active member of VanvasiKalyan Ashram, Diglipur Zilla Samiti also spoke on this auspicious occasion.
