Three Month Long Duration “Training on Tailoring and Zardosi Work

Port Blair, Feb 17: The National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project (Ministry of Cooperation) Andaman & Nicobar Island Unit continuing its efforts to strengthen cooperative movement in this island through organizing various awareness program, workshop, seminars as well as skill development training program to provide platform to the rural people to establish their own business venture. In this series the National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit has organized a 3 month long duration “Training on Tailoring and Zardosi Work. The concluding function for the course was organized today on 17th February, 2023 at Community Hall, Shadipur. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A & N Constituency was the chief guest on the occasion. While addressing the assembly the chief guest said that women folk have the power to build our society as much as in the present days they are equally contributing efforts in developing our country. Women members of self help groups are shoal designing the onus of improving the socio economic condition of grassroots level of the society. Member of Parliament further added that our island is having much potential in the tourism and fisheries sector, women members of self help groups can develop their skill based on easy availability of raw materials and market demand, accordingly they can establish their own venture. Welcoming the gathering Mr. Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer, NCUI Cooperative Education Field Project, A & N Island unit was briefed about NCUI activities being undertaken for strengthening cooperative movement. He further added that NCUI is committed to organize various skill developments training programs to provide opportunities to the rural people of the society for the promotion of various income generating activities through establishing their own business unit. Mrs. Subra Choudhry, Branch Manager, A & N State Coop. BankShadipur Branch in her address highlighted on various banking programs under A & N State Cooperative Bank. Mrs. T. Mangayarkarasi, Councilor Ward No. 10 Shadipur Municipal Council in her address appreciated the efforts of NCUI Field Project, Port Blair for organizing various skill development training programs for the ultimate benefit of rural women of the society. Mr. A. Tamilselvan, Social Worker hailed the program and appreciated the performance being performed by the trainees during the course. The trainees of the course also shared their experiences during the occasion.

Certificates were also distributed by the chief guest to 30 trainees successfully completing the training course. Vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Naresh Ram, Coop. Education Field Project, NCUI, Port Blair.
