Three Days Training Programme for Master Trainers in Early Childhood Care & Education

Port Blair, Feb 27:A three days training programme for Master trainers in Early Childhood care & Education(ECCE) in two phases (from 20th February  2023 to 22nd  February 2023 & 23rd  February  2023 to 25th February 2023) was organized by the State Institute of Education in Collaboration with Samagra Shiksha at  GSS Junglighat, Port Blair as part of Nipun Bharat Mission was inaugurated by Mr. R.K Singh, Principal State institute of Education(SIE) and State Project officer ,Samagra Shiksha .In his address, he highlighted the importance of literacy and numeracy at the foundational years and stressed on developing play based, toy based pedagogies to achieve the desired learning outcomes. He called upon the Master trainers to develop the necessary skills and capacities to accompany the teachers teaching kids at the foundational stage develop the competencies essential for achieving the desired learning outcomes.

The chief Guest for the closing ceremony of the first phase Mrs. Sunita Chakraborty, Principal Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair, in her address she appreciated the activities performed by the participants using low cost no cost teaching learning materials .She also impressed upon the Master trainers to put into practice the learning’s of the training prog to help children learn in a joyful way. The chief guest gave away the certificates to the participants and urged the participants to share their learning’s with the other teachers of their respective areas.

 The resource persons of the training programme were Mr. R. Gopalan , Mrs. Geetha Naveen Bhat, Subject Expert, SPMU Nipun Bharat Mission, Mr. Nikhil Kirtania, faculty SIE, Mr. Jatru Baraik, and Mr. Hasan Ali who conducted sessions on topics like Brain development and holistic development of the child, Developmental domains  and milestones, activity based and play based pedagogies, activities for emergent literacy and numeracy, inclusion of children with disabilities ,hands on training etc .The participants conducted demo classes in the Pre Primary classes with attractive teaching tools.

The chief guest for the closing ceremony of the second phase of Training was Mr. R.K Singh, Principal State Institute of Education and State Project officer Samagra Shiksha who gave away the certificates to the participants.

Mr. R. Sethukarai ,Senior most faculty, SIE welcomed the presence and briefed the participants about the relevance of early childhood care and education in developing the language and numeracy skills during the early years while Mrs. H. Khairun Nisha, faculty, SIE proposed the vote of thanks.
