Port Blair, Feb 27: On 26th February 2023, Andaman Helping Hands, A&N Islands (AHHANI), Allu Arjun Army Andaman (AAAA), Sree Sakthivel Murugan Youth Club (SSMYC) conducted a Cleanliness drive for the motto of Swachh Sagar-Surakshit Sagar in Collaboration with Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC), Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Port Blair and GIZ at Haddo Sea shore near PS Chatham on 26-02-2023 from 06:00 am, In the presence of Mr. Naresh Chander Lal, Padma Mr. Awardee, Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission, A&NI.
The drive was graced by Mr. Naresh Chander Lal, Padma Mr. Awardee, Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission, and A&N. Before conclusion, they interacted with the volunteers as well as the PBMC Safai Mitra and addressed the volunteers.
During this drive, 34 Volunteers were participated with a futuristic thought and total 29 bags of garbage were collected from Haddo Sea Shore, Ward No.02 which consisted all type of mixed garbage like plastics materials, 658 Alcoholic bottles, Juice bottles, Water bottles, Gutka wrappers and plastic bags followed by Plastic Fish baskets, waste clothes, unusable two wheeler and Four wheeler tyres, waste Fishing Nets etc.
Ocean sustainability is only the path of global prosperity. Cleanliness is the responsibility of every citizen of this country for healthy living and their green future generation.
Volunteers raised slogans with great enthusiasm and patriotism like Swachh Sagar-Surakshit Sagar and Bharat Mata ki Jai at the end of the event.
Special thanks to Mrs. Saroja, an Old Age woman residence of Haddo participated as Voluntarily, Mr. V. Narayan Prakash Naidu, Chairman of International Human Right & Crime Control Council (A&N Islands), Mr. Sudeep Singh, Sanitary Inspector, PBMC, Ward No.2 and Safai Mitra, PBMC and for their participation and support. The team extends heartfelt gratitude towards PBMC for providing vehicle facility for removal and disposal of the accumulated garbage.
