SPARSHA NGO conducts Tree Plantation Drive at Shore Point

Port Blair, Aug 18: As part of the “Each One Plant One” campaign launched by the A&N Administration, SPARSHA, Society for Promotion of Serve Humanity Among Youths, an NGO conducted Tree Plantation Drive at Shore Point village.

            About 50 shade and fruit-bearing plant saplings provided by the Department of Environment and Forests, A&N Administration were planted by Patron, President, other Members of SPARSHA and villagers on 15 August 2022 at Shore Point village.

            Incidentally, this also coincides with Govt of India’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which marks 75 Years of Independence. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

`The Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
