Port Blair, Sep 15: The Revenue Department of South Andaman District carried out an eviction drive against encroachments done over government land at Ferrargunj Tehsil on 15th September 2022.
Encroachments in the shape of permanent barbed wire fencing with concrete pillars and banana plantations over the government land have been removed and an area of around 1.00 hectares bearing survey no 100/P has been restored to government account with the assistance of Patwari, Patwari Assistant and CDVs in the village of Hasmatabad under Ferrargunj Tehsil.
Similarly, an area of 0.02 hectares has been restored by removing the encroachment in the shape of a temporary shed at village Manglutan under Ferrargunj Tehsil over Survey No 1/P with the help of concerned patwari and patwari assistants.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman cautioned the General Public that the District Administration has zero tolerance towards encroachment on government land and to refrain from encroaching on Government land.
