Port Blair, Sep 15: The Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram Mr. Venkateswar Rao along with Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Former Member of Parliament, A&N Islands and other PRI members of Middle Andaman met Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration on 15th September 2022 and put forward the problems and demands of their Gram Panchayat.
The demands were the Repair and maintenance of Rural Road from ATR towards newly constructed bridge Panchwati, Ward no. 02 under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana-II; Repair and maintenance of Steel Valley bridge at TV KULAM under Gram Panchayat Shivapuram; Request to take amicable steps to release the admissible subsidy for Construction/Purchase of New mechanized motorizes fishing boat under UT Plan scheme to the fishers of Padmanabhapuram and Rangat Bay; Construction of Rural Road from fisherman colony RRO towards Dhaninallah sea beach to promote eco-tourism activities; Allotment of New query adjoining to existing Panchwati query to a) Panchayat Samiti, b) Zilla Parishad, c) APWD, d)Local islanders through Panchayat and Request to improve Revenue related issues a) Issuance of No -Dues & Valuation certificate, b) Implementing of citizen’s charter, c) User-friendly e-dist portal, d) Disposal of sub-division cases, e) issues of bond e-bond
In the end, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray was apprised of all the problems of North and Middle Andaman and especially about the bad condition of the NH road. The Chief Secretary assured all the public representatives that the most NH to speed up the road construction and give importance to all the problems of rural areas, especially the road construction or repair. The Chief Secretary has assured the efforts will be made to solve all the problems in the coming six months and will visit the North and Middle Andaman to review the progress of the works.
