PPvC conducts awareness programme for ASU&H drugs under AOGUSY

Port Blair, Aug 24: A Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme for ASU&H drugs under the Central Sector Scheme of ‘AyushOushadhiGuvnattaevumUttapadanSamvardhanYojana’ (AOGUSY) was conducted by Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) under AYUSH Wing of DHS on 23rd August 2022 at PHC Chouldari.

        A PowerPoint Presentation was presented by Dr.ParthaMondal, Programme Assistant (PPvC) under AYUSH Hospital on the topic viz.  “History of Pharmacovigilance, need of Pharmacovigilance in Ayurveda, reporting culture for Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) and misleading advertisements on Drug and Magic Remedies Act, 1954”. Dr.Keerthi, MO (Ayurveda), Pharmacists, Nursing Staff, ANMs, AWWs, and ASHA workers attached to PHC Chouldari were present during the programme. A total of 22 Health Care professionals attended the programme.

       The Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) is functioning under the Health Department with the mandate of identifying and reporting possible adverse events and objectionable advertisements related to AYUSH medicines. The general public may report the adverse events/objectionable advertisements on AYUSH medicines, if any, to the PPvCAyush Hospital, Junglighat or through email at ppvcayushpb@gmail.com.
