Port Blair, Aug 18: As part of nationwide ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, cadets of Army and Naval NCC Units conducted Street Drama and Community awareness on 18th August 2022 at Flag Point under the supervision of PI Staff of both units.
The cadets created awareness about environmental conservation and the impact of plastic pollution on the beaches through Street Drama and poetry recitation. Cadets interacted with the local population and briefed how they could convert waste into useful materials. Post completion of the event, the cadets were briefed by Colonel A Vivekananda, Commanding Officer, 1(AN) INDEP Inf Coy NCC about the perils of single-use plastics and measures to mitigate them.
During the event Lt Cdr Ankit Pant, Commanding Officer, 1(AN) NU NCC NCC, ANO/CT and PI Staff of both the units were present. 120 NCC Cadets participated in the event with zeal and enthusiasm.
