Port Blair, Feb 09: The NagarpalikaShramik Sangh(CITU) has staged a mass demonstration in front of the Port Blair Municipal Council office at Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair today (9th Feb 2023) afternoon, demanding (i) regularization of services of daily rated mazdoors (ii) grant of 1/30th of pay plus DA to all DRMs and (iii) grant of Bonus to all DRMs in PBMC. A large number of workers of Port Blair Municipal Council participated in the mass demonstration. Addressing the gathering Mr. B. Chandrachoodan, President of the NagarpalikaShramik Sangh criticized the Andaman & Nicobar Administration for denying the benefit of Bonus to all DRMs. He said that the BJP-led PBMC is not taking any concrete step to regularize the services of daily rated workers who are working in the PBMC for the last several years. The mass demonstration was led by Mr. R. Surendranpillai, President, CITU, Mr. M. Boominathan, Vice President, CITU, State Secretaries of CITU Mr. P. Sathyapal and Mr. Anand rajan, Mr. MV Yugander and Mr. SP Kalairajan, Vice President and Mr. K. Lakshman, General Secretary;NagarpalikaShramik Sangh led the programme.
