Jawahar Bal Manch celebrates 75 years of Indian Independence

Port Blair, Aug 21: Ms. Bindiya Banerjee, State Chief Coordinator, Jawahar Bal Manch, A&N Islands celebrated AzadikaAmritMahotsav with an event consisting of several programmes and competitions on 18th August 2022 at Laksh Public School.

    Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands was the chief guest at the programme. The programme began with the lighting of lamps and paying floral tribute to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Member of Parliament and other dignitaries. More than 200 children participated in various competitions like Fancy dress, Dance competitions, Elocution competitions, Essay competitions, greeting cards making and Bouquet competitions.

            Certificates with momentum were distributed later in the event. Mrs. Ratna Kannan, Social Worker, Mr. Abhay Singh, Mr. Elayaraja, Mr. Shaktivelu, Mr. Abdul Islam, Mr. Rajiv, State Co-ordinators of JBM Ms. Manisha Kaur, Mr. Rahul Singh, Mr. Nadeem was also present for the event.

    The Jawahar Bal Manch believes that when children work together, they can change their world. JBM protects and supports children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support, ensuring their voices are heard, and campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Development of leadership qualities, communication skills, problem-solving ability, artistic expression and scientific inquisitiveness are parts of Jawahar Bal Manch’s programmes.
