Port Blair, Sep 06: Mr. RakeshwarLall, Hindu Rashtra Shakti, A&N Islands has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to declare a Public Holiday on Onam festival.
In a letter, he mentioned that most of the Malayalam speaking populace is in the public sector and the Onam is a lone festival celebrated by Malayalee Community.
Mr. RakeshwarLall further explained the rituals of Onam and requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to declare a public holiday on 08th September 2022.
