Port Blair, Feb 13: Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Disaster Management) reviewed the fire/ life safety measures and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of cinema theatres of Port Blair for strengthening safety measures of the audience in the Cinema Theatres which was held in his chamber on 01.02.2023 with the representatives of Cinema Theatres of ANI and Officers of NDRF, A&N Police, A&N Police Fire Services and Health Department.
Now, the Directorate of Disaster Management is going to conduct Mock drills in all cinema halls of Port Blair City in coordination with Cinema Theatres Owners, Officers of NDRF, A&N Police, A&N Police Fire Services, Health Department and District Administration to check & test of their contingency plan, SOPs and safety measures taken by cinema halls for audiences in case of any incident/crisis/disaster and also to sensitize the audiences/public about Do’s & Don’ts and safe evacuation of various disaster especially fire, medical emergencies & earthquake etc.
