Port Blair, Sep 15: A delegation of Councillors headed by Mrs.Kavitha Udhaya Kumar, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council met the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS on 14th September 2022 at the conference hall of the secretariat and appraised the Chief Secretary about various issues pertaining to the Council.
The Civic Chief put forth issues regarding the regularization of Casual Mazdoors, the release of additional funds for infrastructural development in all the wards and also implementation of Central Schemes in the islands. The delegation also appraised the Chief Secretary regarding frequent power cuts, water curtailment and issues related to the irregular distribution of LPG cylinders.
The Chief Secretary after a patient hearing assured the delegation that issues raised will be sorted out as early as possible. The delegation also thanked the Chief Secretary for sparing his valuable time out of his busy schedule and for hearing the grievances.
