DC SA and officials of NHIDCL inspects the NH-4 from Garacharma to Sippighat

Port Blair, Jul 24: Keeping in view the various complaints of road damage received from the general public, Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Mr. DilkushMeena, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman along with officials of NHIDCL inspected the NH-4 from Garacharma to Sippighat.

            The District Magistrate, South Andaman directed the NHIDCL authorities to repair and renovation of the damaged patches of the road immediately and asked the NHIDCL representative to send the status of the roads before and after repair works.

            The officials also inspected the Dhanikhari bridge project proposal site and assured the NHIDCL authorities for processing the revenue land after due process.

            Thereafter, Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, DC (SA) along with Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Secretary (Education), Ms. PramilaKumari, Adhyaksha, ZillaParishad (SA), Officials of Education Department and other PRIs inspected Humprygunj Middle School and interacted with Headmaster, students and teachers. The Secretary (Education) directed the Director (Education) to submit the proposal for Administrative and Expenditure Sanction for the renovation and repair of school rooms, roofs and the boundary.

            Further school authorities requested the Deputy Commissioner (SA) for providing an alternate path for the villagers. The school authorities also brought to the knowledge about the activities in the school campus after school hours by unscrupulous elements. The Deputy Commissioner (SA) took cognizance of both the points and discussed the issues with the PRIs and found an alternative suitable land, directions were issued to undertake the work at the earliest. Directions were issued to SHO, Humphrygunj for the regular patrolling in and around the school camps to stop the illegal activities.

            The officials inspected the Govt. Sr. School, Mangultan and interacted with the students, Principal and the teaching staff. The classrooms, ICT labs and the toilets block for the students were found to be neat and clean.

            The Pradhan, Humprhygunj requested the Deputy Commissioner (SA) to set apart a parcel of land for Community Hall). Directions were issued to Tehsildar, Ferrargunj for finding out suitable land for the purpose of construction of a community hall for the use of the general public of Humprygunj and Mungultan.

            The officials inspected the status of playgrounds in the respective villages and the Director (Rural Development) was directed that the repair and renovations of the playground be taken up on a priority basis including the lighting facilities at the playgrounds.

            Secretary (Education) and Deputy Commissioner, SA further inspected the Govt. School at Indira Nagar and explored the requirements for additional classrooms. The Secretary (Education) issued directions to the Director (Education) to process the matter for administrative approval and Expenditure Sanction for the additional infrastructure development of the government school.
