CPI (M) Holds Public Meeting at Kalighat

Port Blair, Jan 23: CPI (M) unit of Kalighat Area organized a public meeting at Kalighat Bazar on 22nd January, 2023 on various pending demands and issues of the people of North Andaman. 

Addressing the meeting, Mr. D. Ayyappan, Secretary, State Organising Committee of CPI (M), who was on a visit to North Andaman, criticized the BJP-led central government for the rising unemployment in the islands and also not taking any concrete measures to create jobs for the youth of these islands.  He expressed concern over the rising prices of LPG, diesel, petrol and essential commodities and said that the BJP government has completely failed to arrest prices in the country. 

Mr.Ramjiban Sarkar, State Secretariat Member of the Party and Ex-Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Kalighat briefly explained the demands of the people of Kalighat area including the construction of Kalighat-Nischintpur bridge.  Mr. AVA Samad, Secretary, Diglipur Area Committee andMr.Dulal Mondal, Kalighat Area Committee Member also addressed the meeting.  A large number of villagers of Kalighat and nearby areas attended the meeting.Mr.DilipKarmakar, CPI (M) SOC Member, CPI (M) Panchayat Members Mr. Madhan Sarkar and Radhika Devi, former Panchayat Member Smt Pushpa Dey and Mr. Narayan Bairagi, Convener, DYFI Area Committee were also present.
