Construction of Two Layers WBM Road from Domnic Ekka House To Ram Mandir via UP Tikeri under Sippighat Gram Panchayat

Port Blair, Feb 10: Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS the District Programme Coordinator (Deputy Commissioner, SA), MGNREGA, South Andaman District laid foundation stone for the work “Construction of Two Layers WBM road from Domnic Ekka house to Ram Mandir via UP Tikeri under Sippighat Gram Panchayat” in presence of Sr. Programme Officer (BDO), MGNREGA, C.D Block Prothrapur, the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Sippighat, Zilla Parishad Member, Samiti Member, MGNREGA Officials, Revenue Officials, Ward member and the MGNREGA beneficiaries (Villagers).

The total estimated cost of the above said work would be Rs 14, 43,228/- with an estimated Mandays of 1210 (approx). It was a long pending demand of the villagers of the Gram Panchayat. The above said work will benefit around 180 villagers. This is the first pilot project which is sanctioned and being executed in the field with material components under MGNREGA, South Andaman District. Procurement of material for the said project was finalized through the GeM Portal. 

Further, in the brief address the District Programme Coordinator (DC,SA) desired that this is to be replicated in all the Panchayats and more material work need to be taken up under MGNREGA, South Andaman so that durable assets may be created for the community purpose. He further instructed the officials to ensure that the works executed under MGNREGA should benefit maximum populace in the locality. Citizen information board was also erected on the site with all the mandatory details.
