C 20 National Conference under G20 Summit programme on “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” Organizes by Chinmaya Mission at Tagore Auditorium

Port Blair, Apr 24: C 20 National Conference under G20 summit programme on “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” was organized by Chinmaya Mission yesterday at Tagore auditorium. The day-long conference was inaugurated by Mr. Keshav Chanda IAS, Chief Secretary A & N Administration in the auspicious presence of Mrs. S Selvi Chairperson PBMC and Swami Mitrananda National Coordinator for the programme. 

After lighting the traditional Lamp addressing the gathering Chief Guest Mr. Keshav Chandra said that in present day context theme “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” is very relevant and should be understood by people. Quoting from Ishvashya Upanishad and Bhagwat Geeta he said that we have to inculcate the teaching and values of our scriptures in our life to bring the peace and harmony in the society. 

Speaking on this occasion Swami Mitrananda Head, Chinmaya Mission Chennai and National coordinator for the programme gave the details of the conference and enlightened the audience about the theme. Earlier Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati Acharya Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair briefed about the purpose of the conference and sessions to be conducted on Dharma, Living oneness and Earth revering traditions. Mr. Surendra Prahldka gave the welcome speech while Mr. R Raghunath Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.

In the first session Dharma Swami Chidrupananda head Chinmaya Mission, Noida and Sushree Varsha Bujone, Secretary Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalays were the speakers. They enlightened the audience about different aspects of Dharma. For the second session topic was Earth revering traditions and speakers were Dr Manju Nair associate professor of JNRM and Dr Vivek kumar Sahu Assistant professor from JNRM.

In the Third Session Swami Mitrananda headed Chinmaya Mission Chennai and Dr. Jaidev Singh Retd. Principal spoke on Living Oneness. Quoting extensively from the life of Adi Shankara, Swami Mitrananda explained about the practical aspect of living oneness.

Surprising the whole day’s proceedings, Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati Acharya Chinmaya Mission Port Blair thanked one and all for their participation. A quiz was also conducted for the participating students based on the lectures of the speakers. 

Around 150 students from different institutions also participated in the conference.
