Port Blair, Sep 19: Mr. AjoyBairagi, State President, BJP, A&N Islands has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to conduct an immediate survey of the Flood affected areas of Billyground and provide relief and compensation to victims.
In a letter, he mentioned that the recent flood that occurred atBillyground, Shantipur, Pinakinagar, Basantipur, Togapur, Chainpur andadjoining areas of the N&M Andaman District many farmers and poor people living in the area suffered heavy losses due to damage oftheir crops, domestic animals, poultry and personal belongings.
Therefore, Mr. Bairagi requested the Chief Secretary to depute the concerned authorities to the flood-affected areas to have an on-the-spot assessment of the loss suffered by the people living in that area and to provide immediate relief and compensation for the losses suffered by the poor people living in that area on an urgent basis.
