Baratang, Feb 23: The 60th Annual Athletic Meet of GMS Jarawa Creek Baratang was held on 23.2.2023 in a befitting manner at the school playground.
The day long sprinting and sporting event was declared open by the chief guest Shri Fiaz, AE APWD, in presence of Shri Uttam Sarkar, JE, APWD Baratang.
The Teacher InCharge Shri Ramesh, GTT welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of physical health along with focussing upon educational skills for overall development of a child. He motivated the students to participate in the events without worrying about the results.
Various events such as sprints, race, cock fights, sack race, etc were held for various categories based upon age groups and the winners were distributed fancy prizes and medals.
The programme was concluded with the declaration of closing by Miss Brijit Paul, Incharge, GSSS Oralkatcha who wished and congratulated all the winners and willed good luck to runner ups.
A number of dignitaries were present to mark the closure of the 60th Sports meet namely, Smti Sumari Roy, Pradhan, GP Nilambur, Shri T Satish, Up-Pradhan GP Nilambur, Smti Salma, Teacher In Charge, GPS Katta Khari, Shri Manjit Kr Yadav, Teacher Incharge GPS KattaKhari-2, etc.
The events concluded with National Anthem followed by vote of thanks from Shri Sukru Ram, GTT GMS Jarawa Creek who greeted and thanked all the stakeholders for the successful completion of 60th Annual athletics meet of the school.
