Port Blair, Aug 21:A Covid Booster Dose Campaign was organized by the District Administration, South Andaman in coordination with the PRIs and associations at various places in the district is being vigorously monitored by the Revenue/Rural Development functionaries across the district.
Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, along with Mr. Ankit Yadav, IAS, Additional District Magistrate, Mr. DilkushMeena, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mr. RadheyShyamMeena, DANICS, Director (Rural Development) and the respective PRI members visited the ongoing campaign at the various vaccination sites.
Directions were issued to Medical Officers, Health Staff, Panchayat Secretaries, VLWs, ANMs and other field functionaries to maximize the participation of eligible persons in the COVID vaccination drive.
The team visited all the ongoing eight vaccination centres/camps scheduled today on 20th August 2022 in Urban as well as Rural areas i.e., Water Sports Complex, Marina Park in coordination with Boat Association; Bathubasti Municipal Building, Ward No 24; Anganwadi Centre, Birdline ground area, Ward No. 23; Mobile unit at Bimblitan; Panchayat Bhawan, Ograbranj; Gram Panchayat, Kanyapauram; Community Hall, Gram Panchayat Stewartgunj and Community Hall, Gram Panchayat Bambooflat-II.
A total of 9065 persons were administered vaccination in the ongoing campaign on 18th August 2022 and 19th August 2022 and 3089 persons were administered vaccination till the last reports obtained at 1600 hrs on 20th August 2022, which is still being continued.
It is further informed to the general public that the District Administration has scheduled Vaccination Camp on 21st August 2022 (Sunday) at the following locations from 0900 Hrs to 1700 Hrs; Shore Point, Anganwadi Centre; Calicut, Pump House Junction; Chouldhari, (Mobile Vaccination); Wimberlygunj, (Mobile Vaccination); Tushnabad Junction, Opposite PHC; Community Club, Atlanta Point; PhongyChaung, Near temple; Lal Bijan, Behind Milk Plant; Community Hall, New Pahargaon; Community Hall, Brookshabad and Sea Shell Coral Cove (3 pm to 6 pm).
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has appealed to the General Public to avail this opportunity to ensure 100% vaccination of the precautionary dosage to all eligible persons.
