Port Blair, Sep 09:Medium Range Weather Forecast: (10^th to 14^th Sept, 2022)

Cloudy weather with light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur during next five days in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The maximum temperature will be 30.2to 32.8 ^oC with minimum temperature of 23.5 to 24.4 ^oC, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 73 to 84 % and 68 to 83 %, respectively in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Wind speed of 5.4 to 32.2 kmph is expected mostly from South Westerly direction.

Weather based agro advisories (10^th to 14^thSept, 2022)

For South Andaman (Blocks: Prothrapur, Little-Andaman and Ferrargunj)

• Spray 1% neem coated urea and 2% Di Ammonium Phosphate (10 g urea in 1 lt of water and 20 g DAP in 1lt of water) in rice crop at panicle initiation stage for enhancing yield.
• Do collection and destruction of insect from the infested part of vegetable crops for saving the crop from heavy pest attack.
• Remove stagnant water from the vegetable plots and do weeding.
• As the weather is conducive advised to raise soil around the banana plants to prevent lodging.
• Guinea grass can be grown for feeding the livestock in the inter space area of arecanut or coconut.
• Remove the wet poultry litter immidiately to avoid ammonia production as it affects in health as well as production.

For North and Middle Andaman (Blocks: Rangat, Mayabunder and Diglipur)

• Spray 1% neem coated urea and 2% Di Ammonium Phosphate (10 g urea in 1 lt of water and 20 g DAP in 1lt of water) in rice crop at panicle initiation stage for enhancing yield.
• Do collection and destruction of insect from the infested part of vegetable crops for saving the crop from heavy pest attack.
