A Proud Moment for A & N Islands: Police Station Pahargaon Ranke das 05th Best Police Station in the Country

Port Blair, Mar 06: The pro-active support and positive encouragement of Hon’ble LG and Chief Secretary, A&N Islands has enabled the A&N Police to achieve the unique distinction of featuring among the 10^th Best Police Stations of the country for the fourth time. Under theleadership of the Director General of Police, A&N Islands, Mr. Neeraj Thakur, PahargaonPolice Station of the South Andaman District has been ranked as number5in the Best Police Stations of India by Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI. In 2018, PS Campbell Bay, in 2019, PS Aberdeen and in 2020, Kalighat Police Station, were declared as one of the best Police Stations of the country. This amply reflects the high standards and overall quality of service delivery by the A&N Police.

This ranking indicates that while availability of resources is important but it is sheer dedication, compassion and sincerity that matters the most in prevention of crime and serving the community. The PS ranking is based on 19 parameters such as investigation, L&O maintenance, community outreach and initiatives, gender sensitivity, professionalism, cleanliness & hygiene, CCTNS implementation etc.

PS Pahargaonis one of the busiest Police Stations and is continuously confronting various challenges associated therein. Inspite of these challenges, the Police Station & its staff have been dedicating best of their services to the people. Various proactive actions against crime & criminal and special community oriented policing programs leads to 05^th ranking in the country and the Best (01^st position) in A&N Islands. This award is a matter of great pride for the entire Andaman & Nicobar Police and the citizens of these Islands.

This award brings both pride and responsibility to achieve greater success for the entire Andaman & Nicobar Police and the citizens of these Islands. The efforts made by Inspector Hari Narayan, SHO PS Pahargaon and the then SHO Inspector Girish Kumar and SDPO South Andaman under the overall supervision & guidance of Sh. Kalaivanan R, IPS Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District are appreciable.
