Port Blair, Mar 06: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee on Sunday organized ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ Abhiyan in Ward no. 22, Brookshabad. The Abhiyan was given a grand welcome by the party cadres and local residents of the area.
During the campaign, the ANTCC President Mr.Rangalal Halder, ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker along with Congress leader Jayapaal and several other party leaders visited households and held interaction with people on local and national issues. The issues such as the ever increasing prices of commodities, rising unemployment in Islands, the corruption taking place in different departments and the poor economy of the Union Territory and the country was discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Halder criticised the BJP for creating a veritable chilling effect with its threatening tactics on opposition party leaders. The BJP has created fear among the people by misusing power but Rahul Gandhi and Congress Party has always shown courage in highlighting people’s concerns without fear from time to time.
